Rahim Hassan and Zahra Nanjee

In the words of Sydney J. Harris, “the whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”

This is a quote we passionately believe in and has become the very purpose of our existence. It is with this very notion, that we, as a brother and sister team, excitedly present Ivy Kids Early Learning Center in League City.

Here is a little snippet of our academic backgrounds: I attended Houston Baptist University and received Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Rahim earned a degree in Communications and International Business from University of Houston. But our education doesn’t end there. In fact, it continues as we wake up each day excited to meet our dynamic students!

Gone are the days where learning is acquired from textbooks and classroom lectures. Finding the true love for learning occurs when we immerse ourselves in exciting experiences, tap into our emotions, unleash our creative side, create life long friendships, challenge the limits of our potential, and find our true purpose in the world. This all starts with a solid foundation in early childhood education.

At Ivy Kids, this is the philosophy we strive to achieve…Mixed with some mandatory hugs and giggles of course! We believe it is THE place where your child can feel the comfort of home, while partaking in life’s thought provoking, holistic experiences that can help turn their own windows into mirrors.

It is our sincere promise that with our powers combined, we’ll ensure that every moment spent at Ivy Kids will feel nothing short of…. MAGICAL!

Meet the Director

Stephanie Turner

Ms. Stephanie Turner is a native Houstonian and has her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education for Young Children with Disabilities from The University of Houston Clear Lake. Stephanie also has as a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston Clear Lake as well. Her background in early childhood education has allowed her to work professionally in the childcare industry for nearly 20 years with experience spanning from infant and preschool teaching, intermediate and secondary teaching, program development, and childcare business management and consulting. She is currently licensed by the state of Texas as a qualified Childcare Center Director and notary public. She holds certifications in Special Education and Food Manager.

Additionally, Stephanie has varied experience in business management, including previous ownership of a residential childcare center. Stephanie also started her teaching career in Texas for Pearland ISD as a student and substitute teacher. Stephanie had the honor of being a student teacher at The Rise School of Houston where her love for Special Education grew tremendously. While there she learned that “all” children learn at different levels and through different intelligences. In recent years, Stephanie has served the community as a track, basketball, and cheer coach. Stephanie has continued to build upon her love for children through professional development and gained invaluable knowledge of the childcare industry and Ivy Kids standards. She is excited to continue to provide an “out of this world” childcare experience for everyone she serves. Her diverse experience allows her to assist your families, as well as the Ivy Kids staff, to ensure unity and promote positive communication. Stephanie believes that as a center we will and are “exceeding every child’s expectations!” Stephanie believes in a “family environment” that allows children to experience a “home away from home.”

Stephanie has four children; one daughter, DeJurean’eah, and three sons, Dantrayal, Dae’rribiyean and Aaron. Stephanie’s favorite hobbies include spending time with family, road trips, cooking, and decorating.
