I have always had a passion for working with children. I am an experienced educator with 25 years in Elementary Education. I began my career as a Classroom Teacher and later served as an Assistant Principal for 13 years in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District.

I am a graduate from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors in Business Management. I pursued my teaching certification at the University of Houston. After teaching for eleven years, I completed a Masters and Principal Certification at Sam Houston State University.

I have been married to my husband, Fabricio, for 24 years, and we have a daughter named Alexa.

As a mother and educator, I recognize the importance of high quality childcare in a safe and nurturing learning environment. I am excited to open Ivy Kids Early Learning Center Young Ranch where we combine academic excellence and innovation in a nurturing and joyful environment.

Meet the Director

Jenna Nowak

I am thrilled to be the Director at Ivy Kids Young Ranch.  I am proud to say that I was born and raised in Fort Bend County and graduated from B.F. Terry High School.  After graduating, I immediately began working in childcare. Since then, I have worked for over 17 years in the Early Childhood Education industry. Caring and teaching children have and always will be my passion.  In 2008, I earned my Associate’s Degree in General Studies while attending Wharton County Jr. College.  I continued my education at the University of Houston focusing on Early Childhood Development. In 2010, I obtained my Director’s License from the Texas Teacher’s Academy and began working as a Director. It is my mission to ensure that all children receive the best care, a nurturing environment, and quality education in their early childhood years so they can thrive throughout their life.  As a mother myself, I understand how important it is to have your child attend a program you trust while fulfilling individual needs and providing a safe and fun learning environment.  Ivy Kids Young Ranch is without a doubt that program. I am so excited to be a part of the Ivy Kids team and I look forward to meeting all the children and families.

Meet the Education Director

Karen Figueroa

I am honored to take on the role as the Education Director at Ivy Kids Early Learning Center. I am privileged to be part of this team and to provide exceptional service to our Young Ranch Families. I come from a line of educators and I myself have 12 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. My Journey as an educator started as a Classroom Teacher and I advanced my career by obtaining my Child Development Associate in Infant and Toddlers and later received my Director Credentials. I embodied my passion in working with children and pursued my career further by serving in many leadership roles during my 12 years, to include working as an Office Manager, Assistant Director, Director of Education and served as a Director for 4 years.

I currently hold my CDA in Infant and Toddlers, Director Credentials, Associate of Arts from Houston Community College in Health and Sciences and I will be graduating from University of Houston with my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies in May 2021.

I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and have had the opportunity to travel around the world as a former military child, which provided me with the advantage of emerging in diverse cultures that has now cultivated my approach with my career. My partner and I are blessed and happily raising our blended family, to include five children of my own and two bonus children. Apart from being a mother and educator, I enjoy watching movies, reading and traveling.
My new role will allow me to dedicate my passion for early childhood education, goals and aspirations for the children of the Young Ranch community. I hope to establish positive interactions, open communication avenues, while providing exemplary, safe and nurturing learning environments for our children. I believe that my experience can provide an exciting learning environment that nurtures a child’s full academic potential and fosters their social and emotional development.
