Seedlings – Core Values

Seedlings Preschool/PreK Program at Ivy Kids

Just like a seedling bursting with life, the world of a preschooler is a constant picture of growth and wonder! With discovery at the forefront, our curriculum provides you (teachers and families) with the tools needed to fill such moments of discovery with important truths and values. At Ivy Kids, we embrace the ideas of Core Essential Values – that OUR VALUES ARE CORE. We believe that the use of a common language of monthly values and their life applications (or bottom lines) within a preschool has the power to change behavior, enhance relationships, and foster academic growth…even with 3-year-olds! Beyond that, though, we believe there is something much more powerful at work in our resources and your school. We believe that WORDS ARE ESSENTIAL. The words you use in your conversations with (and about!) children, other teachers, administrators or supervisors, and parents have the power to change your preschool. We believe that the words you use can:

  • Provide direction for children
  • Create cooperation amongst coworkers
  • Develop trust with administrators and supervisors
  • Establish a partnership with parents

Our foundational ideas for our Seedlings curriculum have become The Big 3. These align with what elementary, afterschool, and middle and high schools who use Core Essential Values curricula are teaching, so if your whole school district is on board, you can all be aligned.

The Big 3 are:

  • Treat Others Right
  • Make Smart Decisions
  • Maximize Your Potential

For PRESCHOOL, the Big 3 are:

  • Be a Good Friend
  • Do the Right Thing
  • Always Try Your Best

Each of the Core Essential Big Ideas (values) and Seedlings Bottom Lines point to one or more of the Big 3.
